Our journey started from the foundations laid by Hough & Horne in the early 1980s. Kaleidoprax specialises in optimising English communication channels in organisations.
Accurate data collection informs efficient English literacy solution design. We use ELSA (English Literacy Skills Assessment), our standardised measurement tool, to determine current skill levels. We utilise the ELSA results to shape multi-tiered solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
Kaleidoprax accomplishes this by comparing ideal skill levels for optimum career, academic and workplace performance in English with the measured levels to identify the gaps.

From our data, we conclude that most South Africans function as Social Navigators—equated to skills mastered after 7 or 8 years of formal language learning—where English is the expected language of use. The disparity is that professional environments require Social Navigators to function beyond the social expectations of language. In an ideal world, they would perform better in their home language, but since English is the language of business, better outcomes depend on raising English proficiency.
